I rootz is the band to book for your Caribbean experience. We perform at many resorts in the northern Minnesota area. We are known in Nisswa and played on Gull lake at Zorbaz on the lake since 2007. We've also played at Maddens and Chase on the Lake in Walker. Our first album, released in 2003, titled Peace & Love, includes songs like: Ego, Africa, Wanna Know You, Want Ti, Politricks, Mr. Greedy, Think dem a Star, Are You Ready, and Praise Him, all original songs written by I-Rootz-/Will Tucker. Irootz is well known for making renditions of songs, giving them his own flavor and style, making them up-beat and danceable. Songs from talented Jamaican artists, like “Stir it Up” by Bob Marley, “Curly Locks” by Yami Bolo and Merciless, and “Angel” by Shaggy, just to name a few. I-Rootz plays Caribbean Riddim, Reggae, Soca, Ska, Soul, Dancehall, and R&B music, both live and recorded. I-Rootz has had the privilege to open and share stages with many legendary artists, including: The Wailers; Meditations; the late-great Lucky Dube; Third World; Sister Carol; Burning Spear; the late-great Peter Nelson. |
This talented Belizean artist is known throughout the Midwest, playing in the Minnesota Twin Cities area; Duluth, Brainerd, Walker, and Detroit Lakes, MN; the Gull Lake areas of northern Minnesota; Madeline Island, WI; Lake Okoboji, IA; Chicago, IL; and many more places. He performs regularly at the Harbor Bar Reggae Festival, "Reggae on the River” in Red Wing, MN and Hager City, WI, and has performed internationally in London, England/United Kingdom and Canada. Willie T’s impressive talent and impeccable reputation of professionalism, along with his signature stage performance, continues to take reggae music to greater international heights. I-rootz has traveled and toured through many countries and continents. Will spent many of his younger years playing in Jamaica and Trinidad before beginning his European tour. He performed in England, touring through London, Brixton, and Birmingham. Germany followed, with a concert in Hamburg, and then it was on to Japan. The band headed to Canada next, with gigs in Montreal, Toronto, and Winnipeg. I-rootz continued his tour into the United States, where he finally settled in Mpls (MSP), Minnesota. A favorite Twin Cities hot spot is the Cabooze in Minneapolis, where Will has performed numerous Reggae shows. While based in MN, Will has continued to travel and perform with various bands in many cities & states, including: New York, Chicago, Duluth, Hawaii, Michigan, Phoenix Arizona, Denver Colorado, Las Vegas Nevada, Miami Florida, & Washington DC. His reggae band often hits several cities in each state, making the most of their time: Hollywood, San Diego, Long Beach & San Francisco in California, Columbus & Cleveland in Ohio, Houston, Austin & Dallas in Texas, and Portland & Seattle in Washington.
